Step 1 — Install Fake Webcam
Download and install Fake Webcam and load a video. Keep it running before opening your browser.
Step 2 — Open Instagram in Browser
Go to instagram.com in Chrome or Edge on Windows and log in.
Step 3 — Start a Video Call
Open a Direct Message conversation and click the video camera icon to start a video call.
Step 4 — Select Fake Webcam
When the browser requests camera access, click Allow. Click the camera settings in the call and choose Fake Webcam Source from the dropdown.
Instagram video calls work through the browser on Windows. The Instagram mobile app does not support virtual cameras — use the browser version instead.
